Nine vie for four YLD seats
Nine candidates are running for four contested seats in next March’s elections for the Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors. Fourteen other lawyers were elected without opposition when filing for the elections ended on December 15.
Contested races are:
• In the Second Circuit, Benjamin J. Gibson and Iris A. Elijah for Seat 1.
• In the Fourth Circuit, Andrew D. Scott, Jr., and Robert A. Wohn III for Seat 2.
• In the 20th Circuit, Estefania Nasielski, Kayla Richmond, and Charles C. Whittington for Seat 2.
• In Out of State, Michael George Nichola, Jr., and Brandon Lee Wolff for Seat 2.
Elected without opposition were G.C. Murray, Jr., in the Second Circuit, Seat 2; Ashlea Edwards in the Fourth Circuit, Seat 1; Dane Heptner in the Sixth Circuit, Seat 1; Paul M. Silvestri in the Sixth Circuit, Seat 2; Ryan Gilbert in the Eighth Circuit; Nicholas T. Zbrzewnj in the 10th Circuit; Jesse R. Butler in the 12th Circuit; Kevin Barr in the 14th Circuit; Richard McChesney in the 16th Circuit; Jay R. Thakkar in the 18th Circuit, Seat 1; Michael A. Sasso in the 18th Circuit, Seat 2; Maria K. Vigilante in the 20th Circuit, Seat 1; Cullan Jones in Out of State, Seat 1; and Eric Everson in Out of State, Seat 3.
For the contested races, ballots will be mailed by the Bar’s elections company, Election Services Corporation, on or around March 1. Voters again will have the choice of voting online or returning paper ballots, and instructions will be included with the ballots. All ballots must be received prior to midnight March 21.
In any runoffs resulting from the March voting, ballots for the runoff will be mailed around April 2 and must be received prior to midnight, April 23.
Five-hundred word platform statements from the candidates in contested races will be published in the online edition of the February 1 Bar News.
