THIRTEENTH CIRCUIT JUDICIAL NOMINATING COMMISSION - CHANGE IN MEETING DATE

The Thirteenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission previously published the lists of applicants for the two vacancies on the Thirteenth Circuit in and for Hillsborough County – one vacancy on the Circuit Court created by the elevation of Judge Daniel Sleet to the Second District Court of Appeal and the second on the County Court created by the elevation of Judge Matthew Lucas to the Circuit Court.

The Commission has changed its meeting date to determine which candidates will be interviewed by the Commission. The Commission WILL NOT meet on Saturday, March 2 at 9 a.m. The Commission WILL meet on Friday, March 1 at 9 a.m. at the law offices of Bush Ross, P.A., 1801 North Highland Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33602 to determine which candidates will be interviewed by the Commission.

The Commission will conduct interviews on Friday, March 8. The Commission will submit the names of nominees for these vacant judgeships to Governor Rick Scott by March 12.

The Thirteenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission encourages and seeks comments regarding the qualifications of applicants from the public and from members of the Bench and Bar. Comments may be addressed to Carter Andersen, Chair, Thirteenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, c/o Bush Ross, P.A., 1801 North Highland Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33602. Comments must be received before 9 a.m. on March 1 to be considered by the Commission.
