Deborah M. R. O’Brien of Lowis & Gellen in Orlando has become a partner in the firm.

Lourdes C. Cortizo-Acevedo has joined PobleteTamargo in Washington, D.C., as special counsel. Cortizo-Acevedo focuses on immigration and nationality matters.  

Jonathan Mills has joined Kubicki Draper in Orlando, where he will focus on civil trial litigation related to defending automobile, personal injury, premises liability, and other insurance defense claims.

Tia J. Jones has joined La Cava & Jacobson in Tampa as an associate in the general liability practice group.

Michelle Putvin has joined La Cava & Jacobson in Tampa as an associate. Putvin focuses on defending physicians, hospitals, and other health care professionals in medical malpractice cases.

Kelly A. Gardner has joined Jones, Foster, Johnston & Stubbs in West Palm Beach as an associate.

Tina E. Dunsford and Scott R. Lilly have joined Greenspoon Marder in Tampa as shareholders. Dunsford will chair the health care law practice for the firm. Lilly focuses on creditors’ rights, bankruptcy litigation, health care litigation, health care contract litigation, health care fraud and abuse litigation, real property litigation, and commercial litigation. 

Amanda C. Smith has joined Blalock Walters in Bradenton/Sarasota as an associate in the business litigation services group where she assists with pretrial motions, discovery, and business litigation matters.

Brian H. Bieber and Joel Hirschhorn have joined GrayRobinson as shareholders, practicing criminal and white collar defense throughout the United States.

Alberto “Al” F. Gomez, Jr., has been named a partner in the Tampa office of Johnson, Pope, Bokor, Ruppel & Burns. Gomez focuses on bankruptcy law, insolvency, assignments for the benefit of creditors, and all other aspects of debtor/creditor law.

Nicholas Grimaudo has joined Johnson, Pope, Bokor, Ruppel & Burns in Clearwater in the tax, estates and trust, and business department. Grimaudo focuses on taxation law, business law, estate planning, probate law, trust law, and tax exempt organizations.

Caitlein Jammo has joined Johnson, Pope, Bokor, Ruppel & Burns in Clearwater in the litigation department.

Robin Merriman and Kimberly Stephenson have joined Kuhn Law Firm in Ft. Myers as associates, practicing in the areas of guardianship, estate planning, probate and trust litigation, and real estate and foreclosure litigation.

Robert C. Streit has joined Marshall Socarras Grant in Boca Raton as a senior litigation associate. Streit focuses on complex commercial litigation, business law, employment law, and general civil litigation, including insurance, wrongful death, and personal injury law.

Gabriel A. Garay has joined The Law Offices of Robert L. Parks in Miami as an associate. He focuses on aviation, wrongful death, premises liability, products liability, resort litigation, personal injury, and commercial litigation with a concentration in forum non conveniens and forum selection clause defenses.

Philip E. DeBerard IV has joined Philip DeBerard, Injury Attorney in Stuart. DeBerard will focus on criminal, business, and personal injury law.

Katherine McGovern has joined Kubicki Draper in Ft. Lauderdale where she will focus on the defense of personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, and clergy abuse matters.

Jacob G. Horowitz has been named partner at Goren, Cherof, Doody & Ezrol in Ft. Lauderdale. His practice areas include local government, ethics, and litigation.

Lauderdale, Miami, Miami Lakes, West Palm Beach, Ft. Myers, Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa, Tallahassee, the Panhandle, Houston, and Chicago.

Alvaro C. Sanchez has joined Burandt, Adamski & Feichthaler in Ft. Myers. Sanchez focuses on civil litigation and real estate and probate litigation.

Kevin W. Wimberly has joined Beusse Wolter Sanks Mora & Maire in Orlando as an associate. Wimberly’s practice includes intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution, trademark and copyright prosecution, and related services such as licensing and transactional matters.

Colin Baker has joined Greenberg Traurig in Orlando as an associate in the litigation practice.

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney has opened on office in Ft. Lauderdale. As part of the firm’s expansion plans they will close their Aventura office. All staff and lawyers from the Aventura office will be located in the Ft. Lauderdale office, located on the 22nd floor of the Bank of America Plaza at Las Olas City Centre. The office will be headed by Jack Kessler, who opened the firm’s Aventura office nearly 25 years ago.

Elizabeth Cantu and Fausto Sanchez have joined Diaz Reus & Targ in Miami. Cantu focuses in cross-border commercial litigation. Sanchez will focus on family law, civil, and property cases.

Richard Maleski has joined Cozen O’Connor in Miami as an associate in the subrogation and recovery department.

Will Conroy has joined Johnson, Pope, Bokor, Ruppel & Burns as a partner to head the real estate section in the firm’s new St. Petersburg office in the Synovus Bank Building, 333 Third Avenue North, Suite 200 at the corner of Fourth Street and Third Avenue North.

Todd Aidman of FordHarrison in West Palm Beach has become a member of the firm’s management group. Aidman focuses on labor and employment law matters.

Neil Schiller of Becker & Poliakoff has become co-managing shareholder of the firm’s West Palm Beach office. Schiller, lawyer-lobbyist, will share management responsibilities with Robert Rubenstein, who directs the firm’s community association law practice in Palm Beach County.

Wade F. Johnson III has joined Winderweedle, Haines, Ward and Woodman in Winter Park as an associate. in the litigation and real estate departments.      Johnson focuses on commercial foreclosures, title insurance claims, and various contract disputes.

Charlotte R. Fernée has joined the Law Offices of Cynthia N. Sass in Tampa. Fernée focuses on labor and employment law matters.

Dean Mead has opened a new office in Tallahassee, located at 215 South Monroe Street. The Tallahassee office is home to four attorneys including Peter Dunbar, Martha Edenfield, John Wharton, and Ashley DiNunzio-Gault. Dunbar, Wharton, and Edenfield will each serve as of counsel, and DiNunzio-Gault joins the firm as associate.

Bernard “Ben” Schott has joined Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt in Ft. Myers as an associate in the real estate practice area. He handles real estate matters, including commercial and residential leases, title issues, and purchase and sale agreements.

Katherine Newcomer has joined Broad and Cassel in West Palm Beach in the commercial litigation practice group.

Scott Callen has joined Adams and Reese in the Tallahassee and Tampa offices as a member of the special business services practice group. Callen focuses on labor and employment law.

Timothy W. Ross has become general counsel of Windhaven Insurance in Miami.

Doug Myers has opened Collaborative Law Group, PLLC, in Jacksonville, which will focus on commercial real estate transactions, green building programming, and legal IT service consulting.
