20th Circuit PD, state attorney are unopposed

There will be no contested elections in the only state attorney and public defender contests on the election ballot this year.

The 20th Circuit is the only one in the state where the state attorney and public defender are elected in non-presidential election years; all the others are chosen in conjunction with presidential elections.

This year, 20th Circuit State Attorney Steve Russell and Public Defender Kathy Smith filed for reelection without opposition, winning new four-year terms.
