Charles Basinait was named chair of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt’s land use and environmental law practice in Ft. Myers. Basinait handles matters relating to developments of regional impact, re-zonings, special exceptions, special permits, variances, comprehensive plan interpretations and amendments, and a host of other land-use matters.

Scott Forman became a member of Littler’s board of directors in Miami. Forman focuses on labor and employment law.

Mark J. Chmielarski rejoined Greenspoon Marder in Orlando as a shareholder in the real estate and litigation practice groups. Chmielarski concentrates in the areas of commercial lending, commercial and residential real estate, commercial litigation, and general civil litigation.

David R. Phillips joined Bryan J. Stanley, P.A., in Clearwater, focusing on real estate and business law.

Zoe L. Leinoff joined Ilisa W. Hoffman, P.A., in Coral Gables. Leinoff focuses on insurance defense litigation with an empahasis on medical negligence and general liability matters.

Vivien Monaco joined Burr & Forman in Orlando. Monaco is board certified in city, county, and local government law.

Nicholas J. Zurawsky joined Toll Law in Cape Coral as an associate focusing on foreclosure defense, family law, real estate, and general civil litigation.

Michael Fichtel was named CEO of Kelley Kronenberg in Ft. Lauderdale, but will also retain his title of firm-wide managing partner. Howard Wander of West Palm Beach was named the firm’s chief operating officer. Heath Eskalyo of Ft. Lauderdale was named chief financial officer. Karen Gilmartin of Miami was named chief legal officer.

Cynthia M. Pyfrom opened Cynthia M. Pyfrom, P.A., and handles a wide variety of family law matters in Martin, Palm Beach, and Broward counties.

Tara Lynn Kopp became an associate with Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser & Zoeller in West Palm Beach. Kopp’s primary area of practice is PIP litigation.

Elizabeth A. Montgomery opened Elizabeth A. Montgomery, P.A., in Palm Beach Gardens. The firm practices commercial litigation, focusing on commercial collections and construction law.

Adelson, Testan, Brundo, Novell & Jimenez opened an office in Orlando in which Gina M. Jacobs will serve as managing attorney. The firm focuses on workers’ compensation defense.

Reid M. Hart joined the Law Office of John M. Phillips in Jacksonville. While the firm primarily practices personal injury and wrongful death law, Reid will help bring focus to the firm’s rising criminal defense practice.

James T. Humphrey is rejoining Knott Ebelini Hart in Ft. Myers. His areas of practice will focus on governmental, administrative, real estate, and land use law.

Deana Love joined Daszkal Bolton in South Florida as a partner and its private client services practice leader.

Jennifer Olmedo-Rodriguez was promoted to shareholder and Blake L. Delaney to counsel with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney. Olmedo-Rodriguez is a member of the litigation practice in Miami where she focuses on commercial litigation matters involving banking, UCC issues, and construction-defect matters. Delaney is in Tampa and concentrates on health care litigation and transactional work, as well as all areas of commercial litigation, including residential and commercial foreclosures, bankruptcy litigation, replevin actions, and restrictive covenant issues.

Adam F. Haimo joined Smith Currie & Hancock in Ft. Lauderdale as a partner. Haimo focuses on construction law and real estate investment industries.

Carlos A. Zumpano, chair of the board of Coral Gables-based Infante Zumpano, now known as Zumpano Castro, announced the firm will unite with Roig, Tutan, Rosenberg, Martin & Stoller. Seventeen attorneys from Zumpano Castro will join Roig Lawyers to create a firm of nearly 100 lawyers in six offices across Florida. The existing Roig firm is expected to be renamed Roig, Tutan, Rosenberg, Martin, Stoller & Zumpano, P.A.

Akerman LLP opened an office in Chicago, the firm’s 20th location in the United States.

Zoe L. Leinoff joined Ilisa W. Hoffman, P.A., in Coral Gables. Leinoff concentrates in insurance defense litigation with a focus on medical negligence and general liability matters.

Andrew J. Orosz and Jon M. Gibbs were elevated to partnership with Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed in Orlando. Orosz focuses on matters relating to real estate transactions, development, finance, resort and hospitality law, commercial leasing, and structuring partnerships and joint ventures. Gibbs serves as the chair of the intellectual property services group and focuses on intellectual property protection, licensing, litigation, auditing, and due diligence.

Amanda L. Quirke became an assistant city attorney for the City of Miami in the land use division.

Marissa Amuial joined Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen and Levine in Miami as an associate. Amuial focuses on commercial litigation.

Michael Scanio in Tampa, Anthony Perez in Miami, William J. Sanchez in Orlando, Noah C. Nite in Miami, Drew L. Kapneck, Miami, and Francisco J. León de la Barra in Miami.

Rob Tucker of Feldman Morgado in Tampa was named the managing attorney for the firm’s personal injury group. His practice focuses on personal injury, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse/neglect, and wrongful death claims.

Harvey S. Kauget joined Burr & Forman in Tampa as a partner. Kauget focuses on patent and trade secret litigation, IP risk management, and portfolio licensing.

Nicole Hunt Jackson joined Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith in West Palm Beach. Jackson focuses on personal injury, motor vehicle, and related cases.

Emil R. Infante, Carlos Abarca, Daniel Diaz Leyva, and Rosana Gutierrez joined Foley & Lardner in Miami in the Latin America practice group. Infante joins as a partner and will focus on securities, financial regulation, banking, family office services, and cross-border transactions. Abarca joins as a partner and focuses on complex corporate, commercial, banking, and international matters. Leyva joins as of counsel and focuses on a range of general transactional work, chiefly in real estate, business, corporate, and public affairs. Gutierrez joins as a senior associate and focuses on strategic consulting on a variety of corporate matters.

Juan Ramirez, Jr., joined and forged a strategic alliance with Diaz, Reus & Targ in Miami. Ramirez will work with the firm in its litigation and international practice and will be involved in its civil, commercial, and white collar matters, as well as its international arbitration cases.

Galina Boytchev, Jared Lindsey, Amy Slaman, and James S. Strouss joined Ward Damon in West Palm Beach in the real estate litigation practice group. Boytchev focuses on real estate litigation and regulatory compliance. Lindsey represents institutions and investors in real estate litigation matters. Slaman represents lenders and servicers in real estate litigation matters. Strouss concentrates in residential real property matters, assisting with every stage of real estate transactions, with an emphasis on title issues.

Shantel Woodard joined PeytonBolin in Orlando as an associate. Woodward will focus on real estate and association law.

David Fowler was elected chair of the real estate division of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt in Ft. Myers.

Andrew Jiménez opened Jiménez Law Offices, P.A., in Ft. Lauderdale. Licensed to practice in Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands, the firm’s areas of representation include bankruptcy, business/commercial law, civil litigation, family law, estate planning, and LGBT law.

J.C. Ferrer joined Holland & Knight’s financial services and Latin American practice groups in Miami. Ferrer represents lenders, lessors, airlines, aircraft manufacturers, publicly held and private companies, and individuals in connection with the purchase, sale, and finance (including lease finance) of private and commercial aircraft.

Todd Wallen opened The Wallen Law Firm, P.A., in Coral Gables. The firm focuses on personal injury litigation, commercial litigation, and appeals.

Steve Burres joined Rotech Healthcare, Inc., in Orlando as the company’s new assistant general counsel.

Gregg Gerlach joined FordHarrison in Jacksonville. Gerlach is a labor relations and employment attorney.

Arthur E. Lewis was named a partner at Moskowitz, Mandell, Salim & Simowitz in Ft. Lauderdale. Lewis focuses on lender- related litigation, including foreclosures, reorganizations, bankruptcy, and lender liability.

Joseph C. Wasch and Adam G. Wasch opened Wasch Law, LLP, located at 2500 N. Military Trail, Suite 283, in Boca Raton. The firm focuses on transactional and litigation matters involving business, corporate, and franchise law.

Holly O’Neill joined Broad and Cassel in West Palm Beach. O’Neill is board certified in both elder law and wills, trusts, and estates.

Diana Johnson and Matthew Lufrano opened Johnson and Lufrano, P.A., located at 1010 East Adam Street, Suite 205, Jacksonville, 32202. The firm will focus on criminal defense at the pretrial, trial, and appellate levels.

Kelly A. McGovern joined Tenzer PLLC in Miami. McGovern will head the firm’s commercial litigation practice, representing corporate and individual clients in complex business matters, including contract and partnership disputes, violations of non-compete agreements and banking litigation, at both the trial and appellate court levels.

Michael C. Caborn was named a partner with Winderweedle, Haines, Ward, & Woodman in Orlando. Caborn focuses on banking, bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and collections, litigation, real property, securities and receiverships, and appellate law.

Richard B. Weinman was named a partner with Winderweedle, Haines, Ward & Woodman in Orlando. Weinman focuses on general business, commercial litigation, and creditors’ rights in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, as well as binding arbitrations.

Janet E. Martinez joined Shuffield, Lowman & Wilson as a partner. Martinez will also lead the firm’s new office in DeLand. Martinez focuses on estate planning, estate and trust administration, business and tax law, and nonprofit organization law.

James J. Henson of Orlando and Elizabeth M. Jones of West Palm Beach joined Shutts & Bowen. Henson is a member of the labor and employment practice group. Jones is a member of the real estate practice group.

George Andrews, Daniel J. Barsky, Alfredo L. Gonzalez, Jr., Harris J. Koroglu, Rachel M. LaMontagne, and Adam S. Woodruff were named partners at Shutts & Bowen. Andrews is a commercial litigator in Ft. Lauderdale with experience representing financial institutions in cases involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and the Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act. Jeff P. H. Cazeau joined Becker & Poliakoff in Miami as a shareholder in the government law and lobbying practice group.

Joel E. Roberts joined BakerHostetler in Orlando as a partner in the litigation group. Roberts focuses on commercial litigation, construction litigation, eminent domain, condemnation, and public law.

Jeffrey M. Lowe, Natalie Khawam, and Michael Beltran opened the Whistleblower Law Firm, P.L., in Tampa. The firm focuses on federal and state False Claims Act cases, with an emphasis on medical industry qui tam.
