William (Bill) J. Schifino, Jr., of Burr & Forman in Tampa received the Hillsborough County Bar Association “Outstanding Lawyer Award.”

Lawrence J. Miller of Gutter, Chaves, Josepher in Boca Raton has been elected vice chair of the Board of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

John Neukamm of Mechanik Nuccio in Tampa was recognized at the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section’s Annual Convention for his contributions to Florida attorneys and the public in promoting the highest standards of ethics and professionalism with the William S. Belcher Lifetime Professionalism Award.

Christopher G. Jones of Giles & Robinson in Orlando was elected president of the Central Florida Estate Planning Council.

James A. Edwards  of Zimmerman Kiser Sutcliffe in Orlando discussed “Professionalism, Civility and Ethics in Written Advocacy” at the Orange County Bar Association’s program on Advanced Legal Writing in a Paperless, Digital Age. 

Jamie B. Schwinghamer of Hahn Loeser & Parks in Naples has been appointed to the board of directors for Voices for Kids of Southwest Florida, Inc.

Jorge Luis Lopez of the Jorge Luis Lopez Law Firm in Miami received United HomeCare’s Claude Pepper Memorial Community Advocacy Award recognizing contributions to the welfare of elderly and disabled adults. He also won the American Diabetes Association’s Father of the Year Award.

Thomas A. Sadaka of NeJame Law in Orlando spoke at the National Judicial College’s Scientific Evidence and Expert Testimony conference.

Fred E. Karlinsky Colodny, Fass, Talenfeld, Karlinsky, Abate & Webb in Ft. Lauderdale was named to the inaugural board of advisors of the Center for the Study of Insurance Regulation at St. John’s University’s School of Risk Management.
