Board of Governors Meeting Preview – July 2020
The following items are up for action or discussion at the July 17, 2020, virtual meeting of the Board of Governors as of today; changes may occur before the meeting. - Board members will consider proposed amendments recommended by the Special Committee on Non-Voting Board Appointments regarding the appointment of up to six liaisons to ensure diverse perspectives from all parts of the Bar.
- A report from the Board Technology Committee is scheduled as well as a discussion on the greater use of legal technology during the pandemic and the need to promote more uniformity in remote proceedings.
- Proposed amendments will be discussed to the Rules of Criminal Procedure and to Rule 6-3.3 Jurisdiction of Certification Committee to close a certification area if there have not been any applicants in five consecutive years; recertification standards for the area would remain in effect.
