The Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization and Education will offer remote board certification exams in 2021 for all 27 areas of law. The First cycle exams will be held March 11-12 and the second cycle exams are set for May 13-14, with the option of an in-person examination in Tampa adhering to social distancing protocols. The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education presents two annual awards, the Justice Harry Lee Anstead Award and the Award for Excellence in the Promotion of Board Certification.
The 2020 and 2021 awards will be presented at the Board Certified Lawyers Reception at The Florida Bar Annual Convention on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Chief Justice Charles T. Canady will present the Anstead Award.
April 16, 2021 is the deadline for for submissions.
The Justice Harry Lee Anstead Award
Presented annually by The Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice to a Florida Board Certified lawyer or judge, this award recognizes exemplary professionalism, excellence, character and commitment to The Florida Bar’s certification program and to the practice of law.
The Award for Excellence in the Promotion of Board Certification
This award recognizes excellence and creativity by a Florida Bar Board Certified lawyer or a law firm in advancing the public’s knowledge of and appreciation for legal board certification.
The Florida Bar Legal Specialization and Education Department maintains a list of board certified lawyers who have agreed to serve as a resource for the media. The media contacts are ordered by district and circuit.
