The Florida Bar

Board Budget Committee

The Budget Committee recommends to the Board of Governors a budget that implements approved programs of the bar after receiving input from the Program Evaluation Committee, members and staff. The committee monitors fiscal and budgetary policies for necessary adjustments and to continuously monitor the financial activities to recommend actions that are required to ensure the adequacy of the budget and fund balances. Preparation of the budget usually begins in September and is substantially completed by March. Members may provide input in the fall during early development and again after the proposed budget is published online. The Budget Committee conducts a detailed review of all requested budgets submitted by committees and program areas at the Tallahassee meeting to provide a proposed budget for initial board approval in March. The committee also reviews the unaudited financial reports, fiscal impact statements, and any proposed budget amendments for each board meeting.
