About The Bar

Grievance Mediation & Fee Arbitration Committee

The committee is responsible for administration of the mediation and fee arbitration program, certifying mediators and arbitrators, promulgating necessary forms and documents, and making recommendations, as necessary, to the board of governors for changes in the mediation and arbitration programs.

Training

Each program is approved for 1.5 hours of General CLE credit and 1 hour of Professionalism credit.

Florida Bar Mediation Training – Dos Don’ts and What Ifs

This CLE program is specifically geared towards volunteer mediators who are either already approved or intend to apply to be approved as volunteer mediators in The Florida Bar’s Grievance Mediation and Fee Arbitration Program under Chapter 14 of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. The program provides an overview of The Florida Bar’s program and includes a review of statutes governing mediations, a detailed look at Grievance Mediation Policies and specific rules in Chapter 14 which govern mediations conducted within the program.

Selected and Thorny Issues in Florida Bar Fee Arbitrations

This CLE program is specifically geared towards volunteer arbitrators who are either already approved or intend to apply to be approved as volunteer arbitrators in The Grievance Mediation and Fee Arbitration Program under Chapter 14 of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. The program provides an overview of the program and includes a review of ethical considerations in arbitrations, statutory provisions of Chapter 682, Florida Statutes, and a detailed look at the Fee Arbitration Procedural Rules and other specific rules in Chapter 14 which govern arbitrations conducted within the program.
