Invitation to Serve on a Bar Committee

A Message from President-Elect F. Scott Westheimer

Dear Fellow Bar Members:

Please consider joining other dedicated Florida Bar members who volunteer their time for the betterment of our profession by serving on a Bar committee. It is a privilege to practice law in this state, and with that privilege comes a responsibility. We must work together to address the many challenges facing our profession. You can be a part of our joint effort; simply submit your committee preference form by January 15, 2023. There are many committees to choose from, and you can find a description of each committee on The Florida Bar’s website.

Some of the factors I will consider in making committee appointments are diversity, including, but not limited to, gender, ethnicity, geography, practice area, prior service to The Bar and voluntary bar organizations. I will also consider previous committee participation and contributions.

BY JANUARY 15, 2023 – PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING:

If you are currently serving on a Standing Committee and your term is 2023, you must submit a new committee preference form by January 15, 2023 to be considered for appointment. To check your term on a committee, visit the “Standing Committees” webpage and select your committee.

If you are not currently serving on a Standing Committee and want to be considered, submit the committee preference form by January 15, 2023. Your comments concerning your participation in Bar-related activities, your qualifications and interests will be particularly helpful.

The Florida Bar’s greatest assets are you, our members. Please take a minute and submit your preference form.
