I am excited about the opportunity to work with our incredible members around the state. Next year, The Florida Bar will celebrate its 75th Anniversary, commemorating our great legacy of pursuing justice, promoting professionalism, and protecting the public. Our members are the heart of our organization, and our committees are a great way for members to get involved and make a difference. Please consider joining other dedicated Florida Bar members who volunteer their time for the betterment of our profession by serving on a Bar committee. You can be a part of our joint effort; simply submit your committee preference form by January 15, 2025. There are many committees to choose from, and you can find a description of each committee on The Florida Bar’s website.
Some of the factors I’ll consider in making committee appointments are practice area, prior service to the Bar and voluntary bar organizations, and previous committee participation. Committee members appointed to serve on the various bar committees are expected to participate during in-person and virtual committee meetings. Lack of attendance at committee meetings may impact a member’s ability to remain on the committee.
BY JANUARY 15, 2025 – PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING:
- If you are currently serving on a Standing Committee and your term is 2025, you must submit a new committee preference form by January 15, 2025 to be considered for appointment. To check your term on a committee, visit the “Standing Committees” webpage and select your committee.
- If you are not currently serving on a Standing Committee and want to be considered, submit the committee preference form by January 15, 2025. Your comments concerning your participation in Bar-related activities, your qualifications and your interests will be particularly helpful.
Please take a minute and submit your preference form. The Bar’s standing committees support the Bar’s service to the public, our members, and the legal profession. I look forward to working with you.
