Committee Preference

December 1, 2019

Dear Bar Member,

Submit Committee Preference Form by Jan. 15

Please consider joining other dedicated Bar members who volunteer their time for the betterment of our profession by serving on a Bar committee. Take advantage of this opportunity to enhance our profession and to improve the services we provide the citizens of our state and our members.

It is a privilege to practice law in this state, and with that privilege comes a responsibility. We must work together to address the many challenges facing our profession. You can be a part of our joint effort; simply click continue and submit your committee preference form by January 15, 2020. There are many committees to choose from and you can find a description of each committee on this website.

Some of the factors I will consider in making committee appointments are diversity, including, but not limited to, gender, ethnicity, geography, practice area; prior service to The Bar and voluntary bar organizations; and the need to infuse new members into a committee. I will also consider previous committee participation and contributions.

BY JANUARY 15, 2020, PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING:

  • If you are currently serving on a Standing Committee and your term expires in 2020, you must submit a new committee preference form by January 15, 2020 to be considered for reappointment. To check your term, select your committee and find your name in the members listing.
  • If you are not currently serving on a Standing Committee, and want to be considered, submit the committee preference form by January 15, 2020.  Your comments concerning your participation in Bar-related activities, your qualifications and interests will be particularly helpful.
  • If you are serving on a substantive law committee and want to continue, you must submit the committee preference form by January 15, 2020, to be considered for reappointment.

Serving on a Florida Bar committee can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Take advantage of this opportunity to enhance our profession. Thank you in advance for your service.

 Sincerely,

dorifm
