Florida Bar Mental Health and Wellness Center
The Florida Bar Committee on Mental Health & Wellness of Lawyers wants to help spread the word about voluntary bar events focused on all aspects of wellness. The committee’s Facebook page has over 1,200 followers and is growing steadily. Make sure your events are publicized on the committee’s page by tagging them! Just add @FLWellLawyers to your posts. You’ll be publicizing your own events and helping to get the word out about the important work of the committee, too! REMEMBER: Just be sure to tag them @FLWellLawyers.
NEW!! Governing In A Pandemic
Apply Now for Paycheck Protection Program Stimulus Funds
The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) now includes 501(c)(6) organizations. We understand there is a limited amount of funds so organizations are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) website provides additional resources:
First time PPP loan draws (all 501(c)6) might find this one-page PDF helpful in understanding more about the loan process :
Essentially, applicants work with your regular bank to apply for the PPP funds. Loans of about 2.5 times your monthly average payroll (including benefits) are offered. To get the loan forgiven (there is a loan forgiveness application) you must spend those funds on payroll or utilities in the 24 weeks following you receiving the funds. If you don’t get forgiveness for whatever reason, you can pay the loan back at a 1% interest rate.
