LEON COUNTY is accepting applications for the position of Assistant County Attorney.  This is highly responsible and professional legal work assisting the County Attorney in the delivery of legal services to the Board of County Commissioners, its departments and agencies.  Applicants must be a member in good standing of The Florida Bar and have experience practicing in the area of Florida local government law or a related field. “Related field” includes code compliance, real estate, procurement, contract drafting and administration, public records and Sunshine Law. Experience in transactional law and/or Florida Code Compliance (“Code Enforcement”) matters and procedures is preferred and highly desirable.  In addition, the successful candidate will be well organized, possess strong legal writing skills, and have a good working knowledge of Office 365.

Salary is negotiable, dependent upon experience, and is complemented by an excellent benefits package. Current annual salary range is $67,038.40 – $110,614.40.  Leon County is a member of the Florida Retirement System. A completed Leon County Government application is required. Assistant County Attorney

The Pasco County Attorney’s Office, which represents the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, a rapidly growing area located on Florida’s West Coast, is currently seeking a qualified member of the Florida Bar for a position as Assistant County Attorney.  The position will be responsible for drafting various ordinances including land use regulations.  The position will also be responsible for preparing memoranda and letters; resolutions and administrative regulations; reviewing transactional documents, including procurement matters and negotiating transactions; attending meetings of staff, advisory boards, and the Board of County Commissioners.  Emphasis on local governmental law preferred.  Salary is dependent on the attorney’s experience and knowledge in the above-referenced area(s) of law.
