Paralegal – Litigation Department Tampa

The law firm of Kass Shuler, P.A. is currently seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with 3-5 years’ experience to join our Litigation Department in Tampa. The position requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication and legal research skills, and be comfortable interacting directly with clients, opposing counsel and Judges. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, a problem-solver and committed to producing outstanding work product. In this role, you will be drafting motions and pleadings, summarizing discovery responses, deposition and trial transcripts.  The team is both supportive and collaborative, providing the candidate with the opportunity to gain valuable experience while learning from two of the firm’s shareholders and reputed practitioners. The Florida Bar’s Lawyer Regulation Miami Branch is seeking a Paralegal to provide support to bar counsel. Annual salary starts at $51,611.51 with a competitive benefits package. A legal writing sample is required with resume and employment application.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pleading preparation.
  • Assisting in investigations and file reviews.
  • Conducting legal research.
  • Preparation of appellate briefs.
  • Assisting in the preparation and submission of public records reviews.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of:  Bar Disciplinary Procedures; Rules of Civil Procedure; Adobe Acrobat.
  • Skilled in:  Conducting legal and internet research; Drafting and preparation of pleadings; Written legal communication; Dealing with people; MS Word.
