DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEY — LITIGATION
The City of Port St. Lucie, the 7th largest city in the state, and home to over 195,000 permanent residents, is seeking a Deputy City Attorney who will primarily be responsible for handling in-house litigation for the city, as well as monitoring cases handled by outside litigation counsel. Additional responsibilities will include the wide variety of municipal law issues which face the in-house government attorney. Incumbent must be a team-player and able to function well in an office with numerous attorneys, paralegals and support personnel. Excellent communication skills are necessary as the Incumbent will deal with city staff, management and elected officials on a regular basis. The successful applicant must be self-motivated, should have a minimum of 5 years litigation experience (preferably representing government clients), and be a member in good standing with The Florida Bar.
