PRI launches new website

PRI website

‘The new website is like having a

practice management advisor in your pocket’

The Florida Bar’s Practice Resource Institute (PRI) has launched a new, redesigned version of its website, http://pri.floridabar.org.

When it was introduced in early 2015, the PRI website was developed as the place for Florida attorneys and their staff to turn for the latest news and resources on law practice management. Although the website received great remarks, it was still a work in progress. Visitors to the PRI website complained of its being very text heavy and almost impossible to use on a mobile device, which is how an increasing number of members are accessing the site. Members also criticized that the site’s organization made it hard to find the latest news and resources.

“We are pleased to announce the launch of our newly redesigned website that uses a more attractive, contemporary design, is mobile-friendly, and includes a new drop-down navigation menu to make it easier for members to find what they are looking for,” said Jonathon Israel, director of the Practice Resource Institute.

The new design completely updates the PRI home page and the landing pages for PRI’s five focus areas: Technology, Finance, Marketing, Management, and New Practice.

Israel said over the past year PRI has seen a steady increase in the percentage of visitors who access the site from a mobile device.

PRI logo “While the previous design did not allow for an enjoyable experience on a mobile device, the new website has been optimized for mobile and tablet viewing,” Israel said. “All of the pages, features, and content on the new website are fully accessible from any device, allowing members of The Florida Bar to find the tools or resources they need. The new website is like having a practice management advisor in your pocket.”

To improve the user experience, PRI has also developed some new pages and content, including:

Blog: This page posts the latest news and information related to law practice management. As the articles are categorized and tagged, they will disseminate to the various focus area landing pages of the website to allow for easier reference.

Administrative Forms: This page provides quick access to one of the most popular sections of PRI’s website: The Administrative Forms Handbook. A collection of over 100 forms is available for download and use.

Webinars & CLEs: This page is an online library of PRI sponsored webinars and education programs. All are searchable, may be viewed from any device, and are free.

The Florida Bar Podcast: This page provides an online library of PRI’s monthly podcast on the latest law practice management tools, news, and information. All podcasts are searchable, may be listened to from any device, and are free.

Vendors: This page provides a catalog of legal vendors by product(s). When a benefit or discount is available through The Florida Bar Member Benefits program that information is available.

Jobs: This page provides career resources: a job board for reviewing and applying for available positions, resume review and critique, interviewing tips, and career advice.

Events: This page is a calendar of upcoming webinars and conferences. The description of each event with a registration link, when available, is offered.

Israel said the new website is a critical component of PRI’s mission.

“PRI is always trying to improve our online presence and outreach and appreciates any feedback members have,” Israel said.

The development of the new website was a collaborative effort among PRI staff, The Florida Bar’s IT staff, and The Florida Bar Standing Committee on Technology.
