Dixie County needs a new judge

The Third Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Dixie County bench created by the retirement of Judge Frederick L. Koberlein.

Applicants must have been a member of The Florida Bar for the preceding five years, a registered voter, and must be a resident of the territorial jurisdiction of the court at the time he or she assumes office.

Applications can be downloaded from The Florida Bar’s website at www.floridabar.org or obtained from Andrew J. Decker IV, JNC Chair, 320 White Avenue, Live Oak 32064.

An original and nine copies of the completed application and attachments must be delivered to Decker by 5 p.m., January 11.

In addition to the original and nine copies, applicants must also provide, in PDF format and on a flash drive or CD, one copy of the complete application with attachments and one redacted copy of the complete application and attachments with, all redactions made in compliance with Florida Statutes Chapter 119 and Florida’s public records laws. If you claim the right to any redaction, each redaction must be supported by citation to statutory or other authority.
