Securities litigation is a highly complex, specialized area of law. However, lawyers in other practice areas are often the first to see early warning signs that their clients may be victims of investment fraud or negligence. During this two-hour presentation, investor rights attorney Chris Vernon provides tips for how to avoid becoming a victim of investment fraud and what to do if your client may be a victim. Topics include:

  • When Do You Need an Investment Professional;
  • Checking an Investment Professional’s Background;
  • Avoiding Bad Investments (and Good Investments that are a Bad Fit);
  • Unnecessary and Undisclosed Risks;
  • Detecting Fraud and Negligence Red Flags; and
  • What to Do When You Suspect Investment Fraud.

Finally, Mr. Vernon previews investment fraud trends to be on the lookout for this year, including those that target senior investors.
