This webinar will provide a procedural and factual history of the Florida Supreme Court’s decision in Maronda Homes, Inc. of Florida v. Lakeview Reserve Homeowners Association, Inc. The speakers will review the history of common law implied warranties from Gable v. Silver to Maronda. They will also review the impact of Maronda on Section 553.835, Florida Statutes, which the legislature enacted to abrogate all common law implied warranties for “off site improvements.” Finally, the speakers will discuss the current status of common law implied warranties after Maronda and Section 553.835.
