At this year’s Annual Florida Bar Convention, the FRP Enrichment Committee hosted a two-hour CLE Ethics seminar on Friday, June 28, 2019 entitled Ethical Considerations in the Practice of Law: Alcohol and Substance Abuse. Wendy Toscano, the Vice-Chair for the FRP Enrichment Committee was our emcee for the event and introduced Justice Robert Luck who graciously provided the opening remarks.  A film directed by Jane Dwyer-Lee was presented and provided incredible insight into the subject matter of the seminar.  County Court Judge Faye Allen and attorney Bruce Blitman were co-presenters on the topic.

A “tropical” networking cocktail reception was held directly after the two-hour Ethics CLE Seminar and was opened for all paralegals to attend.  The event provided the attendees with a wonderful relaxing atmosphere for meeting new friends and connecting with old colleagues.  The steel drums, leis, and drink umbrellas transported you to a “tropical island” if only for a couple of hours.

If you missed The Florida Bar Annual Convention this year in Boca Raton, start making plans to attend next year’s event which will be held at the Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Florida from June 17 – 20, 2020.  Mark your calendars!
