Information Collected and its Use

Server log information

When you visit TFB website, you are identified as a unique IP address that is automatically collected in server logs. TFB uses this information to help diagnose problems with our server and to analyze server traffic to learn which pages on TFB website receive more or fewer visitors. This information is anonymous and cannot be traced back to a specific individual. The server log also can tell us which browser you are using and the name of the website that referred you to our site.

Session Cookies

When you visit TFB website, session cookies are maintained in your computer’s temporary memory. These disappear when your session is over and you close your browser. Session cookies allow users to be recognized within TFB website so user data and selections are remembered within TFB website.

User-supplied personally identifiable information

Current and future services on TFB website may require users to set up an account and provide names, email addresses, billing and delivery information, credit card or other financial account information, and other personal information. By providing this information, you can transact business via the Internet, which in the past required telephone or mail contact with TFB.

Member Contact Information

Access to the member portal of TFB website (MyFloridaBar) is protected by a password. We recommend that you not divulge your password to anyone. Members who have logged into the member portal have the option of updating contact information and preferences, and  reporting CLE. These online services are provided as a convenience and allow the TFB to provide members with efficient and high-quality service at a lower cost.

Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of accounts and passwords, and agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under their accounts and passwords.

TFB collects and uses personal information to operate TFB website and deliver requested services. TFB also uses personally identifiable information to inform members of other products or services available from TFB and business partners.

Linked Sites

TFB website contains links to other external websites (“linked sites”) that we believe may be useful to TFB members and the public. TFB is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these linked sites. Please see TFB website’s Terms of Use for more information.

Security

TFB website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. Only authorized employees, agents and contractors (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Accordingly, and despite our efforts, TFB cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, or to or from our online products or services.
