Basic Skills Course Requirement At a Glance
Requirement
- Phase 1: Practicing with Professionalism course
- Phase 2: 21 credits of mandatory Basic Skills Course Requirement (BSCR) courses
When it’s due
- Phase 1: Within 1 year of admission to The Florida Bar
- Phase 2: Within 3 years of admission to The Florida Bar
BSCR phases 1 and 2 are completed once, while a member’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) cycle last for three years. Basic skills courses count toward your first CLE requirement. Read the CLER FAQ to learn more.
