10TH CIRCUIT JNC SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR CIRCUIT COURT VACANCY
The 10th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission announces one new circuit court vacancy in the 10th Judicial Circuit, due to the appointment of Judge Andrea Teves Smith to the 2nd District Court of Appeal. Applicants for this circuit court judgeship must have been a member of The Florida Bar for the preceding five years, must be registered to vote in the state of Florida and must reside in Polk, Highlands or Hardee county at the time the successful applicant is sworn into office.
Application forms are available on The Florida Bar website at https://www.floridabar.org. The original and eight copies of the completed application (no notebooks or binders, please) must be delivered to the commission chair at the address appearing below no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2019. In the past, applications that were not delivered by the specified deadline were not considered by the commission, although minor supplements will be accepted.
In addition to the original and eight copies, applicants are requested to provide one electronic unredacted (PDF) copy of the application and one electronic redacted (PDF) copy of the application. Any material redacted by the applicant must be limited to exempt or confidential information that is exempt from public inspection pursuant to Chapter 119 and Florida’s public records law.
