12TH CIRCUIT JNC ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR CIRCUIT JUDICIAL VACANCY CREATED BY HOUSE BILL 5011
The 12th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission has been asked to provide Gov. Ron DeSantis with nominees for a vacancy for the Circuit of the 12th Judicial Circuit, created by the passing of House Bill 5011.
Applicants must have been a member of The Florida Bar for the preceding five years, a registered voter and a resident of the territorial jurisdiction of the Court at the time of assuming office. Applications may be downloaded from the Office of the Governor’s website or The Florida Bar’s Website.
All people interested in applying must deliver the following:
- A complete paper version of the application along with current photograph to:

- A .pdf version of the complete application with a color photograph to [email protected].
- A redacted version of the application excluding all exempt information under Chapter 119, F.S., or other applicable public records law to [email protected].
THE ATTACHED .PDF FILES SHOULD BE NAMED SO THAT THE APPLICANT’S NAME AND “REDACTED” OR “UNREDACTED” ARE READILY APPARENT IN THE NAME OF THE ATTACHMENT.
All applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Aug. 5. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
NOTE TO APPLICANTS: All questions in the application must be answered fully and completely. Applications should include current and accurate contact information for judges co-counsel, opposing counsel and references, as those individuals will likely be contacted.
INTERVIEWS: Interviews are tentatively scheduled to be held on Aug. 29, at the Sarasota County Judicial Center, located at 2001 Ringling Blvd, 8th Floor, Sarasota County. Members of the bench, bar and public are encouraged to contact members of the Commission concerting applicants for judicial positions.
