18TH CIRCUIT JNC REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS

The 18th Circuit Judicial Nominating  Commission announces a vacancy in the Circuit Court  created by the retirement of Circuit Judge James Earp.

Applicants must meet the qualifications for Circuit Court Judges described in Article V, Section 8 of the Florida Constitution. The successful applicant must be a resident of the jurisdiction of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit at the time the successful applicant assumes office. Applications can be downloaded from https://www.flgov.com/judicial-and-judicial-nominating-commission-information/ under the term “Judicial Appointments.” All applicants must deliver:

1. One original completed application with attachments and recent color photograph along with nine complete hard copies to: Daniel J. Gerber, Chair; Eighteenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission; 300 S. Orange Ave., Suite 1400, Orlando, Florida 32801

2. One complete copy with all attachments in .pdf or other electronic form by email to [email protected].

3. One redacted .pdf version of the application only (without attachments) by email to [email protected] redacting information as allowed by law.

The deadline to email items 2 and 3 above is 6 p.m. on Jan. 31. Any application emailed after the deadline will not be considered.  The hard copy applications identified in Item 1 must arrive no later than 4 p.m. on Feb. 3.

Interviews will be held on Feb. 6, at a location to be determined. Applicants and the public will be informed of individual interview times and the location.
