2ND CIRCUIT JNC ANNOUNCES MEETING AND JUDICIAL VACANCY
As a result of the resignation of Judge Angela Dempsey, there is a vacancy on the Second Circuit Court bench. Gov. Ron Desantis has asked the Second Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission to provide him with a list of highly qualified nominees for the vacancy by no later than Sunday, October 18, 2026.
The Second Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) will meet at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, to elect a chairperson and vice chairperson and set the deadline for applications and date(s) for interviews. The meeting will be held telephonically at (605)-475-4000. Participant Pass code 1071698#. Members of the public are invited to attend.
