APPLICANTS SOUGHT FOR JUDICIAL ETHICS ADVISORY COMMITTEE VACANCY

The Florida Bar Board of Governors is seeking applicants for an attorney vacancy on the Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee. The 12-member committee renders 20-25 written advisory opinions a year to inquiring judges and judicial candidates regarding application of the Code of Judicial Conduct to specific instances of contemplated judicial and non-judicial conduct. Committee members serve four-year terms.

The vacancy will be filled during the Board of Governors’ March 13, 2026, meeting, with the appointment commencing July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2030.

Most the committee’s work is undertaken via e-mail and phone conferencing. The committee is also responsible for judicial campaign conduct forums scheduled in election years. The committee meets once a year at The Florida Bar’s Annual Convention and attendance is strongly encouraged.

Applicants must be members of The Florida Bar and in good standing. Applications will be accepted until close of business on Monday, February 2, 2026. Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of the required application. The Board of Governors will review all applications and may request telephone or personal interviews.
