THE FLORIDA BAR BOARD OF GOVERNORS SEEK APPLICANTS FOR JUDICIAL NOMINATING COMMISSION VACANCY NOMINATIONS
The Florida Bar has the opportunity to nominate attorneys for vacancies on the following Judicial Nominating Commissions:
- Sixth DCA (1 seat),
- 1st Circuit (2 seats),
- 2nd Circuit (1 seat),
- 3rd Circuit (3 seats),
- 5th Circuit (1 seat),
- 8th Circuit (1 seat),
- 9th Circuit (1 seat),
- 10th Circuit (1 seat),
- 14th Circuit (2 seats),
- 15th Circuit (1 seat),
- 16th Circuit (3 seats),
- 19th Circuit (2 seats), and
- 20th Circuit (1 seat).
Nominations will be forwarded to the governors for his consideration for appointment.
Each appointee will serve the remainder of four-year term, with the term commencing upon appointment. Applicants must be members of The Florida Bar engaged in the practice of law and a resident of the territorial jurisdiction served by the commission to which the member is applying. Commissioners are not eligible for state judicial office for vacancies filled by the JNC on which they sit for 2 years following completion of their term.
Applications will be accepted until the minimum number of applicants required, has been met. Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of an application. Screening committees of the Board of Governors will review all JNC applications.
