Check it out! Some great new updates to the MyFloridaBar Member Portal!
The Florida Bar Information Technology department has been hard at work improving and upgrading features of the MyFloridaBar Member Portal, including making it easier for members to find meetings, search CLE courses and products, and register for events. In addition, members can now provide an alternate first name in their profile so that they can be more easily found in the online Find a Lawyer search.
The Member Portal navigation now includes links to these new pages: Meetings, CLE Search and Sections.
The new Sections page displays a list of the member’s current sections and provides the opportunity to purchase additional section memberships.
Previously, meetings were listed with other live in-person events such as CLE courses. Now, meetings are listed separately on the My Meetings page, so you’ll save time finding the meeting you need.
CLE Course and Product Search
The redesigned CLE course and product search makes it possible to fine-tune your search.
New Alternate First Name Search Feature
Members who go by an alternate, or familiar name can now be more easily found in the Find A Lawyer Search on FloridaBar.org. The “alternate first name” feature provides the ability for you to record an alternate first name in your profile. All members will still be listed by their official bar name and that is how the name will appear in the search results.
The Alternate Name field is for alternate professional names (not your official Bar name already listed) or nicknames only. Any taglines, marketing/promotional, profane or other inappropriate language will be removed. This option is solely for ease of search purposes on The Florida Bar website and doesn’t change your obligation to use your official Bar name on record in legal proceedings and court filings.
