THE PALM BEACH COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION recently hosted its third diversity luncheon and summit in West Palm Beach with keynote speaker ABA President-elect Hilarie Bass. The program also included panels, awards, and roundtable discussions focusing on diversity, including hiring and promoting minority lawyers and the increasing demand for diversity by in-house counsel. During the sold-out luncheon of more than 100 members, retired Judge Matthew Stevenson of the Fourth District Court of Appeal in West Palm Beach, and retired Supreme Court Justice James Perry received the “Courage Award.” Retired Judge Edward Rodgers also pledged an annual gift of $2,500 to the Palm Beach County Bar’s Diversity Internship Summer Scholarship Program. Bass’ presentation was video recorded and is available through the Palm Beach County Bar Association. From the left are Co-chair Nadine White-Boyd, Bass, and Co-chair Grasford Smith.
