Ash joins the Journal & News

Jim Ash Veteran newspaper and public radio journalist Jim Ash has joined the Journal & News as a senior editor.

Ash, who began October 2, comes to the News after four years with Tallahassee’s WFSU-88.9/Florida Public Radio, where he served as a reporter/producer.

He started his reporting career in high school as an intern with the Palm Beach Post (where his father, Clarke, was editor of the editorial page) and afterwards went to work for Florida Today. He eventually became capitol bureau chief of the Gannett News Service and also worked in the capitol bureaus of the Tallahassee Democrat and the Palm Beach Post. He has 22 years of experience reporting in the capital city.

Ash is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where he attended the school’s highly regarded writing program, with a B.S. in English.

He enjoys hiking and is the father of four children.
