Young lawyer and new Bar member Alexandra (Cookie) Echsner-Rasmussen helped celebrate the Young Lawyers Division’s health and wellness month in May by interviewing Bar President-elect Designate Michelle Suskauer for her podcast, My Natural Beet.

Alexandra (Cookie) Echsner-RasmussenTheir discussion included not only Suskauer’s background, but how she balances her life as a lawyer, finds time for herself, and advice for busy young lawyers.

Echsner-Rasmussen, who lives in Copenhagen, finds balance by spending time outdoors, traveling, cooking (her interest in food is reflected in the name of her podcast), practicing and teaching yoga, “and in general, keeping an open mind and heart.” She works for the Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis and Overholtz firm in Pensacola doing discovery, document review, and deposition preparation in cases involving European firms and others.

It was during law school she realized “the importance of health and well-being and in general, living a life that makes you feel entirely full, happy, and energized.” Through her podcast, Echsner-Rasmussen hopes “to discover more about myself and the world, connect with like-minded individuals, and inspire others to speak their truth and walk in their natural ‘beet.’”
Her podcast and interview with Suskauer can be found on iTunes and also at www.mynaturalbeet.com/listen/2017/5/6/02-michelle-suskauer.
