Michael Brady Lynch of The Michael Brady Lynch Firm in Winter Park spoke at the Mass Torts Nexus’ convention in Ft. Lauderdale on the subject of Pradaxa.

Jane W. Muir of Miami co-presented a webinar for the ABA on “What You Need to Know: Threats Your Technology Poses to Confidentiality and Attorney-Client Privilege.”

Craig R. Hersch and Michael B. Hill of Sheppard, Brett, Stewart, Hersch, Kinsey & Hill in Ft. Myers hosted free Florida Residency and Estate Planning Workshops in Ft. Myers, Sanibel Island, and Naples.

Robert L. Parks of The Law Offices of Robert L. Parks was named a co-recipient of the Plaintiff Lawyer of the Year Award from the Florida Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Vicki Sproat of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt in Ft. Myers received a lifetime achievement award from the Southwest Florida Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

H.T. Smith of H.T. Smith, P.A. in Miami was appointed to the Federal Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel for the Southern District of Florida.
He also served on a panel to discuss “My Miami Story” during the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office sponsored by the Dade County Bar and The Miami Foundation.

Alan C. (A.C.) Nash of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin in Ft. Lauderdale was appointed to the board of directors of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.

Eric K. Gabrielle of Stearns Weaver Miller in Ft. Lauderdale presented “Employment Law: LGBTQ Best Practices for Employers” at the Florida LGBTQ Legal Aid Summit.

M. Thérèse (“Terry”) Vento, Pérez Art Museum Miami’s general counsel, was named the top in-house legal counsel at the Dade County Bar Association’s Legal Luminaries Award Ceremony.

Anitra F. Raiford received the Shook, Hardy & Bacon William G. Zimmerman 2017 Pro Bono Award for her service on behalf of a pro bono client.

Jeffrey W. Johnson of Johnson Law Group in Boca Raton was installed as the 51st president of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.

Jennifer Diaz of Diaz Trade Law in North Miami spoke at the Advanced Topics in Customs Compliance Conference on “U.S. Export Controls Compliance” and discussed “Tariff Engineering and How to Do It Correctly” at the NCBFAA’s Global Trade Educational Conference.

Adam Rabin of McCabe Rabin in West Palm Beach was presented the Henry Latimer Leadership and Professionalism Award by the University of Miami School of Law.

Thomas Mersch of Kelley Kronenberg in Ft. Lauderdale has joined the Southern District Conference for the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission.

Patricia A. Leonard of Shutts & Bowen in West Palm Beach presented, “Deposition Strategies” at the Federal Boot Camp Seminar, hosted by Pincus Professional Services in Ft. Lauderdale.

Myers was a featured practice development speaker at two sessions of the 2017 WealthCounsel Symposium in Hollywood, California. His two topics were, “Using Technology to Enhance the Client Experience” and “Overcoming the Commoditization Trap.”

Jason Wolf of Koch Parafinczuk Wolf Susen in Ft. Lauderdale published an article in, “Hurricane Irma Insurance Woes Could Plague South Florida,” which focused on the specific areas that policyholders should consider before calling their agents or becoming victims of scams.

Ilanit Fischler of Fisher Phillips in Ft. Lauderdale was named “Junior Director of the Year” by the Latin Builders Association.
