Southern District seeks magistrate judges and comments on reappointments

The U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, anticipates appointing two full-time magistrate judges in the coming months, one for the Miami Division and one for the West Palm Beach Division.

The current annual salary is $188,692 per year. The term of office is eight years, with the Miami position beginning February 23, 2018, and the West Palm Beach position beginning March 18, 2018.

Full public notices for the magistrate judge positions will be posted on the court’s website at Application forms will also be available on the website. The deadline for submitting applications is September 11. Final approval to fill the West Palm Beach position is pending as this notice went to press.

The court is also seeking comment on the reappointment of Magistrate Judge Lurana S. Snow in Ft. Lauderdale and Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman in Miami. Information regarding the reappointment process and how to submit comments may found at
