Rocky Rodriguez of McDonald Hopkins in Miami has been elected to the national board of directors for Warriors at Ease.

Craig R. Hersch of Sheppard, Brett, Stewart, Hersch, Kinsey & Hill in Ft. Myers was named to the editorial advisory board of the Modern Practice Committee for Trusts & Estates magazine. He also recently received the magazine’s 2017 Distinguished Author Award in New York City for an article published February 2017, “Marketing the Modern Estate-Planning Practice.”

Tom Scarritt was named honorary chair of the Hillsborough County Chapter of the NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner in Tampa. Scarritt was also given a Freedom Fighter Award for his leadership role in relocating the Confederate statue from the Hillsborough County Courthouse.

Stephen Moss of Holland & Knight in Ft. Lauderdale received the firm’s highest individual leadership honor, the 2018 Chesterfield Smith Lawyer Award.

Joe Camerlengo of Jacksonville spoke on “Developing Rules and Standards in Depositions” at a seminar in Ft. Lauderdale at the AAJ Education Trial Advocacy College. He also spoke on “Cross Examining the Safety Director” at the 360 Advocacy 2018 Conference: How to Win Trucking Cases in Las Vegas.

Lisa McGlynn of Fisher Phillips in Tampa presented information to church leaders as part of a webinar series covering labor and employment issues for religious institutions. McGlynn’s most recent presentation, “Misclassifications: Are your exempt employees really exempt? What are independent contractors?” discussed how churches must be compliant and properly classify and pay each employee.

Jill Nexon Berman of Rennert Vogel Mandler & Rodriguez in Miami moderated a panel discussion for the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Winter Seminar, “Tax Cuts and Job Acts of 2017: Analysis, Impact and Planning Strategies.”

Miranda Soto of Shook, Hardy & Bacon presented the webinar, “Responding to PR Nightmares,” a presentation of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel online learning webinar. Soto’s section covered post-crisis issues and analyzed previous PR responses from celebrities and people in the entertainment world.

Douglas J. Chumbley of Carlton Fields in Miami spoke as a panelist on “Personal Jurisdiction Post-Daimler: State of Law and Strategy,” during the IADC’s 2018 Midyear Meeting in La Quinta, CA.

Jason Lambert of Broad and Cassel in Tampahas been named vice president of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, Tampa Bay Chapter.

Joshua Hertz of Miami Lakes was elected treasurer for the Miami Lakes Bar Association.

Christopher E. Benjamin of The Barrister Firm in Miami served as a panel speaker for the NSU Interfaith Student Council on the topic of social justice lawyering.

Johanna Wills Clark of Carlton Fields in Orlando moderated a panel on “Class Actions, Real Estate Contracts/Litigation, County Government Relationships,” at the Association of Corporate Counsel Central Florida Chapter’s Dimension event in Orlando.

Lawrence Gordon of Phoenix Mediation in West Palm Beach, and mediator Bruce A. Blitman of Palm Beach Gardens presented “Ten Ingredients for an Effective Mediation” at the “Ethics, Professionalism and Technology” seminar presented by The Paralegal Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar in West Palm Beach.

Blake Sando of Cole, Scott & Kissane was elected chair of the City of Coral Gables Advisory Board on Disability Affairs.

Jeffrey M. Wank of Kelley Kronenberg in Ft. Lauderdale has become vice chair of the board of directors for Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida, Legal Aid Service of Broward County, and Legal Aid Service of Collier County.

Andre D. Pierre of the Law Office of Andre D. Pierre, P.A., was a panelist for “One Book, One U,” discussing first-generation students and the professional experience at University of Miami School of Law.

Aaron J. Pruss of Hewson & Van Hellemont in Ft. Myers has been elected chair of the City of Sanibel Charter Review Committee.

Elizabeth Schwartz of Miami presented at the National Association of Women Lawyers’ Mid-Year Meeting on “Moving Diversity Forward: A Collaborative Effort,” regarding the challenges women and diverse attorneys experience in the legal profession, representing the National LGBT Bar Association.

Glenn A. Adams of Holland & Knight in Orlando received the Orange County Bar Association’s William Trickel, Jr., Professionalism Award for 2018 during a ceremony at the Orange County Courthouse.

Holly Rice of Lanier & Deifik in Naples has been accepted into the G.A.I.N. (Growing Associates in Naples) Class of 2018.

Barnaby L. Min of the City of Miami City Attorney’s Office was a panelist at a Dade County Bar Association Real Property Committee and Miami Realtors Educational Seminar discussing “Zoning Powerhouse Panel: Everything You Want to Know About Zoning.

Nirupa Netram, chief court operations officer for the Charlotte County Clerk of Court, has been elected to the board of directors of the Uncommon Friends Foundation.
