The Florida Bar is accepting nominations for an award that recognizes excellence, character, and commitment in the practice of consumer protection law.
These are the attorneys who help Floridians fight to save their homes, re-establish credit, and push back against unfair and deceptive trade practices. Last year, Craig Rothburd, a solo practitioner in Tampa, received the 2017 Florida Bar Consumer Protection Lawyer of the Year Award from Attorney General Pam Bondi in a ceremony at her Tampa office.
“I am fortunate enough to have the time and ability to assist Florida’s legal services to represent consumers, by volunteering my time pro bono, by training and mentoring other attorneys, and in simply representing those who are less privileged in my practice,” said Rothburd. “It is simply something that we should do.”
Deadline for nominations for the 2018 Consumer Protection Lawyer of the Year Award is Friday, April 6, at 5 p.m. Nominations made in 2017 will also be considered.
The nomination form is on the Consumer Protection Law Committee page on The Florida Bar website at www.floridabar.org and can be easily submitted via email. The form should be downloaded to a browser before being filled out. Questions: Please call or email Susannah Lyle at 850-561-5669 or [email protected].
