“Pathways to a Productive Practice: Slaying Dragons through Statesmanship” is the title of the Senior Lawyers Committee’s free CLE seminar to be conducted at The Florida Bar’s Annual Convention in Boca Raton.
The seminar will include presentations from Michael Cohen, executive director of Florida Lawyers Assistance; William (Bill) Curphey III, of Curphey & Badger; and Donald A. Smith, Jr., of Smith, Tozian, Daniel & Davis. These three seasoned lawyers will provide information in the following presentations:
• “The Peace of Wild Things,” covering Aging in the Practice of Law, and Cutting Back in Your Practice;
• “Collaborative Negotiation, ” addressing different negotiating styles and planning when things go awry; and
• “Honor, Integrity and Humility,” covering recent trends in ethics and disciplinary actions.
The course is approved for three hours of general CLE credit.
The program is set for Thursday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to noon, following a short business meeting of the Senior Lawyers Committee in the Santa Margherita room, which is in the Yacht Club at Boca Raton Resort & Club. The Senior Lawyers Committee was created to provide all Florida lawyers with a forum and network to address the lifestyle and professional changes of great importance to lawyers as they move through their careers and, also to law firms and other members of the legal profession. There is no age criteria or limitation for membership in the Senior Lawyers Committee.
