Judge McEwen seeks reappointment

The current 14-year term of United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Middle District of Florida Catherine Peek McEwen of Tampa, is due to expire on August 21, 2019.

The United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit is considering whether to reappoint Judge McEwen to a new 14-year term of office.

Under reappointment, Judge McEwen would continue to perform the statutory responsibilities of a bankruptcy judge.

Members of the Bar and the public are invited to submit written comments for consideration by the court of appeals concerning the reappointment of Judge McEwen to a new 14-year term of office in Tampa. If requested, the identity of a respondent to this solicitation will not be divulged without prior consent. However, Judge McEwen will be provided with a general description of the source and nature of any comments.

All comments should be submitted to James P. Gerstenlauer, Circuit Executive, 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, 56 Forsyth Street, NW, Atlanta, GA 30303. Comments must be received in the Circuit Executive’s Office no later than December 4.
