Student essay contest addresses bullying

T he Gay & Lesbian Lawyers Network, Inc., is sponsoring a law student scholarship essay contest with the theme: “How to Deal with Bullying, or How I Have Learned to Survive as a Sexual Minority,” with an award of $1,200.

The contest is open to all students currently enrolled in any South Florida law school.

Essay submissions are limited to 1,000 to 1,200 words, and must be postmarked between January 26 and February 2, 2013, to GLLN Essay Contest, 2301 Wilton Dr, Suite 3, Wilton Manors 33305 by U.S. mail. Full details are available at the GLLN website, GLLN.org.

The GLLN provides continuing legal education luncheons and social events in Broward County open to lawyers, judges, law students, and legal workers.

Partial funding for the essay contest was provided through a grant from The Florida Bar’s Special Committee on Diversity and Inclusion.
