Jon May, Andrew B. Demers, and Paul A. Giordano have become partners in Roetzel & Andress and Robert Malani has joined the firm as an associate. May and Demers joined the Ft. Lauderdale office, Giordano is based in Ft. Myers and Malani is in Orlando. May defends individuals and institutions accused of serious violations of federal law, including allegations of healthcare fraud, money laundering, mail and telemarketing fraud, mortgage fraud, and racketeering. Demers’ practice focuses on representing banking and commercial clients in business litigation and commercial contract disputes. Giordano handles a variety of business and commercial litigation matters, with a special focus on bankruptcy — creditors’ rights, partnership disputes, commercial foreclosures, contract and corporate disputes, and general and professional liability lawsuits. Malani focuses his practice on creditors’ rights and commercial bankruptcy.

Ronald L. Siegel joined Brinkley Morgan in Boca Raton as a partner. He is board certified in wills, trusts, and estates, and his practice area also includes probate, real estate, guardianship, and taxation.

Maggie D. Mooney-Portale has joined Hankin, Persson, McClenathen, Cohen & Darnell in Sarasota. Mooney-Portale is board certified as a specialist in city, county, and local government law. Her practice focuses on governmental law, special taxing districts, land use, administrative law, and litigation.

Elizabeth A. Bowen has been named partner at Hyman & Mars in Miami-Dade County. Bowen concentrates her practice in community association liens and foreclosures.

Kevin T. O’Hara has joined Beytin, Mclaughlin, Mclaughlin, O’Hara & Bolin and will practice in the firm’s new Orlando area office located at 220 E. Central Parkway, Suite 2040, Altamonte Springs 32701. O’Hara focuses on defending complex professional malpractice and general litigation matters.

Rouselle “Bo” Sutton III has been named partner at Railey, Harding & Allen in Orlando and will continue to concentrate his practice in construction law, professional negligence, and general business litigation.

Eric M. Weiss has joined Railey, Harding & Allen in Orlando as an associate in the firm’s healthcare, taxation, real estate, and transactional practice groups.

Railey, Harding & Allen has opened a new office in Tampa at Hyde Park, 309 S. Fielding Avenue, Tampa 33606, which is managed by Patrick R. Delaney.

Marc Trestman of Raleigh, NC, has become head coach of the Chicago Bears.

Brittany Adams Long has joined Radey Thomas Yon & Clark in Tallahassee in an of counsel capacity. In addition, Patrick Flemming has joined the firm as an associate.

Gary S. Dunay, Bonnie Miskel, Scott Backman, and David K. Blattner have formed Dunay, Miskel, Backman and Blattner in Boca Raton. Dunay and Blattner focus on commercial and residential real estate transactions. Miskel and Backman concentrate in zoning and land use. Marissa A. Faerber has joined the firm as an associate and will practice in the zoning and land use department.

Katherine Amador-Fortuny joined Berger Singerman in Miami as a partner and member of the business, finance, and tax team.

Ben Shoemaker and Peter C. Vilmos have become partners with Burr & Forman in Orlando. Shoemaker represents lenders and business clients in solving issues that may arise in transactions and litigation. Vilmos is a Florida Bar board certified construction attorney.

Karen J. Lapekas opened Lapekas Law, P.A., at 2665 South Bayshore Dr. Suite 220-3, Coconut Grove 33133. Lapekas Law focuses on tax controversy defense and litigation.

The O’Hara Law Firm in Jacksonville has changed its name to O’Hara Halvorsen Humphries, P.A. Recently named as nonequity shareholders are Tiffany M. Jones, Mike P. Regan, Jr. , and Aurora D. Vaca. O’Hara Halvorsen Humphries is a civil litigation firm that handles various kinds of insurance defense and liability cases throughout Florida and Georgia.

Annika E. Ashton has joined Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Miami as a labor and employment associate. Ashton focuses on employment discrimination defense, wage and hour disputes, and employment-related class actions.

Elisabeth Beal has joined Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Miami as a labor and employment associate.

David Behar has joined Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Miami as a litigation associate.

Behar practices complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on contract disputes, securities fraud, and financial services litigation.

FordHarrison, a national labor and employment law firm, has merged with Christine D. Hanley & Associates in West Palm Beach.

FordHarrison also has Florida offices in Jacksonville, Melbourne, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.

Fred T. Stapp and Timothy I. Martin formed Stapp & Martin, located at 3127 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville 32207. The firm focuses on personal injury and wrongful death.

Rachelle Bocksch has become a partner at Friedland & Bocksch in Ft. Lauderdale. Her practice focuses on litigating slip and fall, automobile accident, and general negligence claims in addition to criminal defense, debt defense, and school law.

David Krathen of Weston has joined Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group’s mediation panel.

Eric W. Emery, Jr., joined the Florida Department of Children and Families’ Children’s Legal Services in Daytona Beach as an attorney for Circuit 7 in the Northeast Region.
