APABA Tampa Bay hosts the NAPABA

The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Tampa Bay hosted the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Southeast Regional Conference in June in Tampa.

A diverse group of attorneys and law students from eight states attended the conference.

The agenda included the following presentations: “Immigration Update,” presented by William J. Flynn III and Jennifer G. Roeper of Fowler White; “Corporate Forms, Best Practices and Cross Border Tax Issues for Success in China,” presented by Robert Lee of Foley & Lardner LLP and Deborah Fallucca of Gregory, Sharer & Stuart CPAs; “Diversity in the Legal Profession,” presented by Gwynne Young; “FBI Investigation of White Collar Crimes,” presented by Supervisory Special Agent Andrew Sekela of the FBI; “Sales and Marketing,” presented by Shivan Sarna, international speaker and HSN host; and a “Bankruptcy Panel” of Byron C. Smith of Gregory, Sharer & Stuart; Angelina Lim of Johnson, Pope, Bokor, Ruppel & Burns, LLP; and Fritz Archerd of Lykes Insurance, Inc.

NAPABA and its 62 local Asian Pacific American bar associations represent the interests of more than 40,000 APA legal professionals and promote justice, equality, and opportunity for Asian Pacific Americans. APABA Tampa Bay has 33 members, comprising a diverse group of in-house attorneys, government practitioners, law firm associates, and law students.
