Chief Justice’s Distinguished Federal Service Award Nomination Form

This award, presented by the Chief Justice, recognizes an active or retired federal judge for outstanding and sustained service to the public, whether through legal or civic service or a combination of them, especially as it relates to the support of pro bono legal services.

To qualify, a nominee must have completed at least five years of judicial service on a federal court in Florida (including: the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Middle, or Southern District of Florida; the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for one of those districts; or an Immigration Court located in Florida).

The award will be given to the judge who best exemplifies the ideals embodied in the Code of Conduct for U.S. judges, furthering the goals of equal justice under the law and encouraging pro bono service by Florida lawyers.
