Proposed Amendment to Appellate Court Procedure, New Rule 9.143 (Crime Victims)

The Appellate Court Rules Committee, in compliance with Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.140(a)(7), invites comments on proposed Rule 9.143 anticipated to be filed on or before July 31, 2020. Interested persons have until June 15, 2020, to submit any comments, electronically, to Thomas D. Hall, chair of the Appellate Court Rules Committee, and to Krys Godwin, Bar attorney liaison.

Rule 9.143. Crime Victims This new rule defines victim and record within a criminal or juvenile delinquency case. It details the victim participation within an appeal and oral argument.
