Free Online CLE – Requests for Time Off: How Caregiving is Changing the Workforce and Impacting Your Firms

March 26, 2020

Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter once said, “There are only four kinds of people in the world: those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers, and those who will need caregivers.” That’s a great quote as far as it goes, but she omitted one very important group:  the employers of those who fall into her four categories.

The Legal Fuel Speakers Series addresses this fifth group in Requests for Time Off: How Caregiving is Changing the Workforce and Impacting Your Firms, a free recorded presentation that is approved for 1 hour General CLE credit. In this presentation, St. Petersburg attorney and AARP family caregiving expert Amanda Singleton covers the laws affecting employers’ responsibilities and introduces best practices for addressing the needs of caregiver employees. While the presentation speaks to law firms and their employer clients, any lawyer who falls into one or more of Rosalynn Carter’s four categories (and that’s all of us!) should consider it required viewing. The video can be accessed on LegalFuel’s website.
