The Florida Bar

April 18, 2019

Law Day is held May 1 every year to celebrate the role of law in our society and to cultivate a deeper understanding of the legal profession. The American Bar Association promotes this annual event, which this year will focus on Freedom of speech and the press.

To celebrate Law Day, some local bar associations hold luncheons, featuring speakers discussing topics such the liberties provided for by the U.S. Constitution. Also, attorneys visit schools to talk to students about the U.S. legal system.

The American Bar Association’s Law Day 2019 Planning Guide is online. Lesson plan handouts are available online. While on the website, check out the 2019 theme artwork to personalize your Law Day messaging, as well as specialty products to reward your participants and thank volunteers.
