Amazon: Get Shipment Updates via Text« Back to Tech Tips
For those of us who really appreciate up-to-the-minute alerts about packages and deliveries, there’s Amazon text alerts. You can sign up to receive tracking information via text message for all your orders. Amazon will send a standard text message when your package has shipped and another when it has been delivered. You will also receive a text message if there are issues with your order such as delivery exceptions or delays. Oh, important note: text updates are only available (as of now) for packages shipped from directly by Amazon, not 3rd party sellers.
Signing up for text alerts is easy and won’t affect email alerts you may already be receiving. You’ll have to head into your account settings to turn them on. Here’s how:
- Log into your Your Amazon Account
- Under the Email alerts, messages, and ads section, click ‘Shipment Updates via Text‘.
- You will confirm your subscription by replying YES to the confirmation text that Amazon will send you.
As always, remember that standard message and data rates may apply. Message frequency is based on how much you order from Amazon. The short code 262966 is used by Amazon.com to share shipment tracking updates. You can always text HELP to 262966 for a list of helpful tips. Decide it’s TMI from Amazon? No worries, just text STOP to 262966 to cancel.« Back to Tech Tips
