How to Find the Warranty Status on Apple Devices

For owners of Apple devices, whether an iPhone, Mac, HomePod, or any other, there is a way for you to check if your device is still covered by a warranty. It will likely be the first question an Apple technician asks you, so you might as well be armed with the information. Plus, warranties run out after a specific period has passed, so it is better to regularly check the status so you know when it is set to expire.

If you’re still covered and having trouble with your device, you may be able to receive service from Apple or an authorized provider for free or a small amount. Here’s are two ways to check.

Through the Apple Support App

  • Open the Support App
  • Select Products and choose the device whose warranty status you’d like to check
  • Finally, select Device Details
  • A screen will appear, indicating the expiration date of your device. Additionally, you will also see if your warranty has expired and know if there is an offer to upgrade to AppleCare.

Through A Browser

  • Visit apple.com to check Apple devices’ warranty coverage
  • Enter the device’s serial number and select Continue
  • A page with details of your coverage, the kind, expiry, and what it can be used for will appear
  • With this method, you do not need to verify your details using your account information. A serial number is enough, but you can log in if you want to. If you can’t find your serial number, visit Apple’s support page for instructions.
