Law Day 2016
|In 2016, the nation marks the 50th anniversary of perhaps the nation’s best-known U.S. Supreme Court case, Miranda v. Arizona. The 2016 Law Day theme — Miranda: More than Words — goes beyond the familiar Miranda Warning and will explore the procedural protections afforded to all of us by the U.S. Constitution, how these rights are safeguarded by the courts, and why the preservation of these principles is essential to our liberty.|
For your information and use, ABA has prepared a Law Day 2016 Planning Guide . The Guide is loaded with resources to assist in your organizations upcoming Law Day celebration.
There are also other materials available on the ABA Law Day website at www.lawday.org.
Gov. Rick Scott has officially declared May 1, 2016, as Law Day in Florida. The proclamation can be used for local bar events statewide.
As in the past, we want to feature Law Day events in Bar-to-Bar E-News and share with other voluntary bar leaders through The Florida Bar social media networks. Please include email@example.com in any Law Day distribution of your event.

The Florida Bar Voluntary Bar Association Diversity Leadership Grants
The purpose of this voluntary bar association grant program is to support initiatives and programs which encourage diversity, diversity training and dialogue among lawyers in Florida through financial support of conferences, seminars, summits and symposia planned and hosted by local and specialty bar associations.
