Sturm und Drang

Letters

Thanks to John Getty for his excellent and well-detailed article in the May/June issue on the history and recent developments of federal and state non-compete law. The final paragraph contains two cultural allusions — one to the “sound and fury, signifying nothing” line from Macbeth and the other to the German turmoil concept of “sturm und drang,” which, unfortunately, the editor or spell checker changed to “strum and drag,” conjuring up the image of FTC and NLRB commissioners sitting around playing guitars while puffing cigarettes. We should remember that AI requires human supervision.
